Lowered Battery On Forklift Truck
Because the motor has moved forwards It is now an easy matter to lower the truck's main traction battery into the space it would normally occupy as shown in orange on the right. This gives huge benefits as follows:
- As the heavy traction battery is much lower, so is the truck's centre of gravity making it more stable
- The floor of the truck can be made lower allowing better access for the operator
- The clearance between the operator's head and the overhead guard can be increased.
It would be fair to say that AC power gives a more smooth operation of the forklift and allows for many more additional functions than DC power.
