Effects of rear tilt on lateral forklift stability
The slide above shows the forklift's mast at full elevation with full rear tilt applied. As can be seen this moves the centre of gravity of the truck and load towards the rear of the machine. At first glance this seems harmless enough but when you look at the truck in plan view, which is shown on the next slide, the danger becomes apparent.
