You don't walk away from a fork lift accident

FLTA SafetemberThe Fork Lift Truck Association are promoting their annual Safetember campaign. The following is an article by the FLTA.

Every single day, four people are maimed, seriously injured or killed by fork lift trucks injuries that will change their lives forever and those of everyone they know. It’s a grim statistic and one we’ve got to change.  To do that we need your help.  In return we’ll provide you with a whole raft of resources, tips and tricks so you can get involved.

September is the deadliest month when it comes to fork truck fatalities. It’s why we choose this time to raise awareness and encourage everyone to take action. It’s why we’ve dubbed it Safetember.

This year our message is: You don’t walk away from a fork lift accident and to support it you’ll find loads of excellent safety materials, available free on the FLTA website throughout the month. You’ll find a checklist that will allow you to benchmark safety on your site; a powerful new campaign package, (including video), aimed at protecting pedestrians; posters that keep everyone alert to the dangers and a lot more.

One of the most important events in the materials handling calendar, the National Fork Lift Safety Conference is coming up soon: Wednesday 20th September at the Heart of England Conference Centre near Coventry.
It’s important for you because it is crammed full of valuable “insider” safety ideas and recommendations focusing not on theory but on practical solutions.  Particularly relevant are our presentations from managers and supervisors of companies, like yours, who have won awards for the quality and effectiveness of the safety measures they have implemented.  Often at low or no cost.
Attendance of this highly informative event grants delegates 4 hours of CPD points.
What’s more, because we feel this event is so important, ticket prices have been set at a level that means anyone can attend… including groups of delegates from the same company since this makes absorbing ideas, and then implementing on site, much easier.

Tickets cost just £175 including all refreshments and lunch (£125 for Safe User Group members – so now would be a great time to join). Find Out More
