Dangers of drains and potholes

The effects of running over drains and potholes will vary depending upon the depth of the pothole and the diameter and type of wheels and tyres fitted to the forklift. In any event, forklift operators should watch out for all types of potholes, drains and the like and take avoiding action so that the wheels of the forklift do not enter them. Similarly employers should make sure that the ground upon which forklifts are expected to operate is in reasonable condition and free from obstructions which may cause the truck to fall over.
