types of injury caused by manual handling

manual handling injury types

The vast majority of manual handling injuries are sprains and strains, usually to the back. These account for over 70% of manual handling injuries and most can be avoided.

Other injuries occur of course but they are much less frequent. These include cuts and abrasions, the odd broken bone etc.

The manual handling regulations deal with all of these but obviously damage to the back is the most serious.
